SunshineAndShade is a growing nonprofit with a growing vision. As more families step forward in faith to pursue adoption, the need for support continues to expand.
We believe God will provide more than enough for every family He calls. Part of that provision often comes through the community.
As an applicant, we invite you to participate in building this mission alongside us. You are welcome to share our Events and Fundraising pages with friends, family, church members, and community supporters who may feel led to invest in adoption grants.
When families and communities come together, we are able to expand our reach and increase the support available for every applicant.

A Calling. To Provide.
SunshineAndShade was born from a deep conviction that adoption is not simply a desire — it is God-given calling.
We believe that when God calls a family to grow through adoption, He also makes a way. Yet the financial realities of adoption can feel overwhelming.
For many families, the greatest barrier is not willingness — it is timing. When a match occurs, significant funds are required immediately in order to move forward. Without financial readiness, even faithful families can experience painful delays.
SunshineAndShade exists to help bridge that gap.
Why We Exist
We are a Christian nonprofit organization committed to serving families who are stepping into adoption in obedience to God’s leading.
We believe the Church is called to care for children and to support families who open their homes in faith. Adoption is not meant to be carried alone. It is a community act of provision.
Through prayerful stewardship and community fundraising, we provide adoption grants to families who are actively pursuing adoption and are aligned with our mission and values.
Our heart is simple:
To remove financial barriers so that a child can come home without unnecessary delay.
Who We Seek to Serve
We seek to serve families who:

Have an approved home study

Are working with a licensed adoption agency

Demonstrate financial need

Are actively engaged in a Christian faith community

Sense a clear calling to grow their family through adoption
We prioritize families who are seeking to raise their child within a Christ-centered home and who are walking in accountability within their local church.
Grant awards are prayerfully reviewed and distributed as funding allows.
Our Commitment
Our goal is to support up to 12 adopting families each year as funding allows. We prayerfully steward every dollar entrusted to us and remain open to serving more families as God provides.
SunshineAndShade also serves our local community through practical support initiatives, but adoption remains at the heart of our calling.
A Note About Applications
Grant applications are accepted only during designated funding windows. When applications are open, families may submit materials for review by our board.
We are honored by every family who feels led to apply and approach each application with prayer, discernment, and care.
Please keep your eye out for grant application deadlines. Our application process will close periodically to allow for our board to meet and select applicants. We currently have more applicants than funds. We ask as an applicant for you to utilize our site's EVENTS and FUNDRAISING pages to share with friends, family, community, and those who can support this mission and make our funds bigger than our needs.
